Alvino Sanders (Vino)

Professional Hairstylist

With over 30 years in the hair industry, Alvino—better known as Vino—did not initially set out to become a barber. His early career began in architectural drafting, which he studied in high school. After graduating, he worked as an architectural draftsman for several years before being laid off along with many others at his company. Seeking another drafting position, he applied to a new firm but was offered a different role instead. He took the job and worked there for several years.
The turning point came when a close friend and coworker lost his job. Recognizing the importance of having a backup plan, Vino decided to enroll in barber school. Upon graduating, he chose to work in a salon rather than a barbershop, aiming to expand his knowledge of women’s hair. His clientele grew significantly, eventually allowing him to leave his full-time job and focus on hairstyling.
In 1998, Vino relocated to Conyers, Georgia, where he worked in various fields while continuing his passion for hair. Around this time, a childhood friend also moved to Conyers, and the two began working in the same barbershops. Both avid golfers, they eventually teamed up with one of Vino’s clients to launch Tour Level Golf Apparel, a golf clothing line.
After years of experience in fashion, styling, and personal grooming, Vino and his partners saw an opportunity to create a space where men could receive both expert grooming and personalized styling services. This vision led to the creation of The Men’s Refinery.
Today, as Co-owner and Master Barber Stylist, Vino has mentored many aspiring professionals, emphasizing excellence, professionalism, and innovation in the barbering industry. He remains committed to educating others and reshaping the perception of the industry, ensuring that grooming is seen as an essential part of style and self-care.
